Scholarship Summary

One of The Foundation’s mission areas is the education and support of veterinary students. As a success of The Foundation for the Horse’s “Taking the Lead” Campaign heads into the final stretch, over $390,000 was awarded in scholarships for 2022. During the AAEP’s Annual Convention we presented twenty-three scholarships and fellow awards to deserving current and future equine practitioners!

These scholarships reward equine veterinary students and young researchers based on their academic excellence, leadership in their school and student chapter, and their long-term goals to pursue a career in equine practice.

Veterinary students and new practitioners are financially overburdened. This puts important training opportunities out of reach and distracts from their first passion—the care and treatment of horses. The Foundation’s scholarship program is providing these future practitioners the financial help they need to get established. Without this timely support, many talented and dedicated students would not be able to fulfill their potential.
