EDCC’s first priority is to protect and improve the health of horses in North America

The Equine Disease Communication Center (EDCC) provides real time information about disease outbreaks and works to educate the horse industry about infectious diseases and biosecurity. Accurate information helps prevent disease spread and stops rumors which unnecessarily disrupt horse activity and transport.

Since April 2015, state and practicing veterinarians have reported outbreaks resulting in more than 1,375 alerts for 1,950 disease outbreaks posted on EDCC’s website, Facebook, and Twitter. Nearly 8,000 email addresses and more than 9,500 Facebook followers receive same day messages containing a link to the alert page.

Like insurance, you hope you don’t need it, but are glad that you have it just in case.
