The Foundation for the Horse, thanks to the continued support of Zoetis, is again offering recent equine veterinary graduates and those graduating in 2021, up to five scholarships at $4,000 each. The deadline to apply is October 14, 2020.

Now in its eighth year, the Zoetis scholarship program rewards veterinary students and recent grads for their academic excellence, leadership in their school and American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) student chapter, and long-term goals in equine practice.

“We are proud to continue this longtime partnership with The Foundation for the Horse to offer this opportunity benefiting new equine veterinarians and thankful for yet another chance to showcase Zoetis’ ongoing commitment to horse health and to the veterinary profession,” said Jeannie Jeffery, Zoetis equine business unit head. “With the challenges of COVID-19 these students have had to endure, there is no better time to help these deserving individuals.”

The Zoetis scholarship is open to veterinary school graduates of 2020 who are actively pursuing careers in equine medicine as well as to fourth-year veterinary students pursuing careers in equine medicine and active within any of the AAEP’s 38 student chapters at colleges of veterinary medicine in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to equine veterinary medicine. Applicants must also have the support of AAEP members and their clinical instructors.
