The Foundation for the Horse is accepting applications through August 5 for the Coyote Rock Ranch Veterinary Scholarships. Three distinguished veterinary students entering their fourth year and aspiring toward careers in equine medicine will each receive a $75,000 Coyote Rock Ranch Scholarship through The Foundation. The scholarships will be awarded in November during the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ 68th Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas.

Penelope Knight created the Coyote Rock Ranch Veterinary Scholarships in 2016. Since awarding the first scholarships six years ago, 20 AAEP student members have benefited from a cumulative $1.575 million in assistance.

“With the help of The Foundation for the Horse, I am pleased to continue to offer this great opportunity to benefit our next generation of veterinarians,” said Mrs. Knight. “Helping future equine veterinarians is one way I am able to support research and advancements of care for the horse, especially during a time when there is a great need for new veterinarians to remain in large animal practices.”

Three top veterinary school students with a dedication to equine medicine will be awarded the Coyote Rock Ranch Scholarship for their academic excellence, leadership in their school and chapter, and long-term goals. The scholarship is open to veterinary students graduating in 2023. For additional information or to apply, visit https://aaep.org/scholarships/coyote-rock-ranch-scholarship.
