Twenty-eight equine veterinary students at 16 universities have earned more than half a million dollars in scholarships granted by The Foundation for the Horse in 2025. The scholarships were formally awarded during the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) 2025 Convention in Denver on December 7.
These scholarship recipients were selected for their academic excellence, leadership within their schools and student chapters of the AAEP, and their ambitious long-term goals in equine practice.
“Seeing these remarkable students recognized for their talent, persistence, and dedication to the welfare of the horse affirms our commitment to securing the future of equine medicine,” said Keith Kleine, director of The Foundation for the Horse. “Thanks to our generous and committed partners, we provide life-changing scholarships to help students manage the financial burden of becoming horse doctors.”
Since 1994, The Foundation for the Horse has awarded over $4.5 million in scholarships to more than 800 students pursuing careers in equine medicine. Learn more about scholarships granted by The Foundation for the Horse at foundationforthehorse.org/impact/student-education.
