FOREIGN VETERINARY GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Foundation offers the Foreign Veterinary Graduate (FVG) Scholarship program in support of The American Association of Equine Practitioner’s (AAEP) strategic plan to support foreign veterinary graduates pursuing equine experience in the United States, and The Foundation’s mission impact of education. Foreign Veterinary Graduates faced increased costs navigating the visa process and obtaining licensure through the ECFVG or PAVE programs.

FVG Scholarships will be made available annually to qualified applicants who display a commitment to equine veterinary practice in the United States.

AWARDS

A maximum of three scholarships for $2,500 each.

Funds are to be used to assist with NAVLE costs and other testing fees. Applicants are required to have completed the ECFVG or PAVE program and be ready to take the NAVLE/Boards, ensuring funds are not awarded prematurely.

ELIGIBILITY
  • Must have a current work VISA in the USA
  • Must have passed the ECFVG or PAVE or NAVLE
  • Pursuing equine-oriented employment and be supported by an AAEP member

AAEP Membership is not required but is preferred. Learn more about the benefits of AAEP Membership.

Note: Applicants can re-apply next year if they do not pass the NAVLE; however, preference will be given to those who have not previously been awarded an FVG scholarship.
